Greetings all:
In October 2011, I had a letter to the editor of Townsend Newsletter published where I gave my recommendations as to how we could fast forward the process of having the average medical doctor using complementary medicine in their everyday practice without the fear of being accused of not practicing the proper standard of care for their patients. Currently, because the standard of what is considered good and scientific medical care is heavily weighted in favour of utilizing various medications for disease, if a doctor fails to adhere to this standard of care they leave themselves open to malpractice claims as well as to state board licensing issues, each of which by themselves is a powerful incentive to not rock the boat and practice outside of the conventional model.
I believe that if implemented, the concepts I have described below would dramatically alter in a healthy way, the manner in which medicine is practiced and at the same time, more than likely save the US significant amounts of money it currently is spending on health care.
