About 4-5 percent of U.S. adults suffer from chronic headaches, which may occur nearly every day, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Bastomski’s comments:
Missing from the list of frequent causes of tension headaches are are misaligned / fixated upper neck (cervical) vertebrae, the upper most of which is at the level of the brainstem. It’s misalignment can cause direct tension on the dura matter, that is the fascial covering of the brain and spinal cord. This is so because the dura matter inserts into the upper cervical vertebrae as the spinal cord passes through this area.
Prior injuries and traumas, especially to the head are critical items to take into account as a region of potential source of dysfunction triggering headaches. With proper neurologic brain based techniques, such as my go to technique P-DTR, one can identify these areas and reset the abnormal stimuli emanating from them.
