Regarding posture a couple of things come to mind. First off, frequently if a patient who has problematic posture goes through a series of spinal adjustments, over an approximate one to four month period, depending on the severity of their condition, they will often comment that their posture has improved along with improvement of their sleep, pain and mood.
Second in terms of a specific exercise for improving posture, I will have my patients choose a color. Say its blue. OK, then every time you see the color blue think about a blue helium balloon above your head with a line coming down which attaches to the top of your head and another line which comes down and attaches to the top of your breast bone. The concept is a gentle lift of these regions. Think tall, not military rigid. You need to constantly reintroduce this correct posture to your nervous system till it becomes more ingrained.
